El SOFA es un sistema de medici\u00f3n diaria de fallo org\u00e1nico m\u00faltiple de seis disfunciones org\u00e1nicas. Cada \u00f3rgano se clasifica de 0 (normal) a 4 (el m\u00e1s anormal), proporcionando una puntuaci\u00f3n diaria de 0 a 24 puntos. El objetivo en el desarrollo del SOFA era crear un score simple, confiable y continuo, y f\u00e1cilmente obtenido en cada instituci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El SOFA durante los primeros d\u00edas de ingreso en la UCI es un buen indicador de pron\u00f3stico. Tanto la media, como el score m\u00e1s alto son predictores particularmente \u00fatiles de resultados. Independiente de la puntuaci\u00f3n inicial, un aumento en la puntuaci\u00f3n SOFA durante las primeras 48 horas en la UCI predice una tasa de mortalidad de al menos el 50%.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;
