Functional Fecal Incontinence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recurrent uncontrolled passage of fecal material for at least one month, in an individual with a developmental age of at least 4 years, associated with:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fecal impaction; or<\/li>\n<li>Diarrhea; or<\/li>\n<li>Nonstructural anal sphincter dysfunction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>F2. Functional Anorectal Pain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>F2a. Levator Ani Syndrome<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 12 weeks, which need not be consecutive, in the preceding 12 months of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Chronic or recurrent rectal pain or aching;<\/li>\n<li>Episodes last 20 minutes or longer; and<\/li>\n<li>Other causes of rectal pain such as ischemia, inflammatory bowel disease, cryptitis, intramuscular abscess, fissure, hemorrhoids, prostatitis, and solitary rectal ulcer have been excluded.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>F2b. Proctalgia Fugax<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Recurrent episodes of pain localized to the anus or lower rectum;<\/li>\n<li>Episodes last from seconds to minutes; and<\/li>\n<li>There is no anorectal pain between episodes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>F3. Pelvic Floor Dyssynergi<\/strong>a<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The patient must satisfy diagnostic criteria for functional constipation in Diagnostic Criteria C3;<\/li>\n<li>There must be manometric, EMG, or radiologic evidence for inappropriate contraction or failure to relax the pelvic floor muscles during repeated at-tempts to defecate;<\/li>\n<li>There must be evidence of adequate propulsive forces during attempts to defecate, and<\/li>\n<li>There must be evidence of incomplete evacuation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>References:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Douglas A.
