Other symptoms include abnormalities of dreaming sleep, such as dream-like hallucinations and feeling physically weak or paralyzed for a few seconds.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b>Diagnostic Criteria for\u00a0Narcolepsy (DSM-IV-TR)<\/b><br \/>\nA. Irresistible attacks of refreshing sleep that occur daily over at\u00a0least 3 months.<br \/>\nB. The presence of one or both of the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>cataplexy (i.e., brief episodes of sudden bilateral loss of\u00a0muscle tone, most often in association with intense emotion).<\/li>\n<li>recurrent intrusions of elements of rapid eye movement\u00a0(REM) sleep into the transition between sleep and wakefulness,\u00a0as manifested by either hypnopompic or hypnagogic\u00a0hallucinations or sleep paralysis at the beginning or end of\u00a0sleep episodes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>C.
