Classified as PAN if at least three of the 10 criteria are present:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Weight loss &gt; 4 kg: Loss of &gt;4 kg body weight since illness began, not related to dieting or other factors.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Livedo <span class=\"SpellE\">reticularis<\/span>: Mottled reticular pattern over the skin of portions of the extremities or torso.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Testicular pain\/tenderness: Pain or tenderness of the testicles, not due to infection, trauma or other causes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span class=\"SpellE\">Myalgias<\/span>, weakness or leg tenderness: Diffuse <span class=\"SpellE\">myalgias<\/span> (excluding shoulder or hip girdle) or weakness of muscles or tenderness of leg muscles.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Mono- or <span class=\"SpellE\">polyneuropathy<\/span>: Development of <span class=\"SpellE\">mononeuropathy<\/span><span class=\"GramE\">, multiple<\/span> <span class=\"SpellE\">mononeuropathies<\/span> or <span class=\"SpellE\">polyneuropathy<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Diastolic BP &gt;90 mmHg: Development of hypertension with the diastolic BP higher than 90 mmHg.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Elevated BUN or <span class=\"SpellE\">creatinine<\/span>: Elevation of BUN &gt;40 mg\/dl or <span class=\"SpellE\">creatinine<\/span> &gt;1.5 mg\/dl, not due to dehydration or obstruction.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Hepatitis B virus: Presence of hepatitis B surface antigen or antibody in serum.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span class=\"SpellE\">Arteriographic<\/span> abnormality: Arteriogram showing aneurysms or occlusions of the visceral arteries, not due to arteriosclerosis, <span class=\"SpellE\">fibromuscular<\/span> <span class=\"SpellE\">dysplasia<\/span> or other non-inflammatory causes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Biopsy of small or medium-sized artery containing polymorphonuclear cells: Histologic changes showing the presence of granulocytes or granulocytes and mononuclear leucocytes in the artery wall.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">These criteria have a reported sensitivity of 82.2% and a reported specificity of 86.6% for the classification of polyarteritis nodosa compared with other vasculitides.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>References:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Lightfoot RW, Michel BA, Bloch DA, <span class=\"SpellE\">Hunder<\/span> GG, <span class=\"SpellE\">Zvaifler<\/span> NJ, <span class=\"SpellE\">McShane<\/span> DJ, et al.
