Pre-existing renal impairment<br \/>\n2. Diabetes mellitus with renal impairment<br \/>\n3. Reduced intravascular volume<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Congestive cardiac failure<\/li>\n<li>Diuretics (especially furosemide)<\/li>\n<li>Abnormal fluid losses<\/li>\n<li>Liver failure<\/li>\n<li>Nephrotic syndrome<\/li>\n<li>Dehydration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. Prolonged hypotension<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Concomitant use of diuretic and inhibitors of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE)<\/li>\n<li>Complication of coronary angiography<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5. Contrast media<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Large volumes (&gt; 140 ml)<\/li>\n<li>Repeated injections within 72 hours<\/li>\n<li>High osmolarity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6. Diabetes mellitus<br \/>\n7. Nephrotoxic drugs<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>e.g. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs<\/li>\n<li>Aminoglycosides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>8. Advanced age<br \/>\n9. Hypertension<br \/>\n10. Proteinuria (including nephrotic syndrome)<br \/>\n11. Multiple myeloma<br \/>\n12. Hypercholesterolaemia<br \/>\n13. Hyperuricaemia<br \/>\n14. Hypercalcaemia<br \/>\n15. Sepsis<br \/>\n16.
