Imaging tests, particularly CT or MRI scanning, are useful when complications such as hepatic infarction, hematoma, or rupture are suspected. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: black;\">The diagnosis is established by the presence of preeclampsia and the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"> Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia with characteristic schistocytes on blood smear <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"> Platelet count &lt;100,000 cells\/\u00b5L<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"> Serum lactate dehydrogenase &gt;600 IU\/L or total bilirubin &gt;1.2 mg\/dL<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"> Serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) &gt;70 IU\/L<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>References<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sibai BM, Ramadan MK, Usta I, Salama M, Mercer BM, Friedman SA.
