ASAS Categorization Criteria for Spondyloarthritis
ASAS Categorization Criteria for spondyloarthritis (SpA) in patients under 45 years old of age with lower back pain of 3 months duration.
- Radiological diagnosis of sacroiliitis + 1 or more features of spondyloarthritis
OR
- HLA B27 + 2 or more features of spondyloarthritis
Features of spondyloarthritis
- Low inflammatory pain
- Arthritis
- Enthesitis
- Uveítis
- Dactilitis
- Psoriasis
- Crohn/colitis
- Good response to NSAIDs
- Family history of spondyloarthropathy
- HLA B27
- High CRP levels
Radiological diagnosis of sacroiliitis
- Active (acute) inflammation in the MRI highly suggestive of sacroiliitis due to SpA
- Radiological sacroiliitis defined according to the New York criteria (grade >2 bilateral or grade 3-4 unilateral)
